Callum Hawkins-Row is a teenage racing driver who, at just 16 years old, is described as a rising star and has been recognised as being ‘one of the fastest young drivers out there’. As the young development driver with Team HARD he is set to compete in the growing and exciting 2017 Dunlop Britcar Endurance Championship.

Background

Callum joined Brentwood Karting Academy in 2012/13 successfully winning the Rising Star Driver award, securing second place in
his very first Championship, before progressing into competitive karting as an independent driver.

After an extended run on the highly competitive Ginetta scholarship, and being one of the top 10 finalists in 2015, Callum’s
significant potential was recognised and he was signed by Team HARD in November 2015 as their young development driver.

The innovative driver development programme is a forward thinking successsion programme launched by Team HARD which is an elite group fronted by BTCC driver Tony Gilham. Tony Gilham has a passion and the drive to revitalise and bring something unique to the Race/Track car preparation industry.

In 2016, Callum competed in the Fiesta Junior Championship, run by the BRSCC, driving the Fiesta ST 2000 race car provided by Jamsport Racing. Jamsport is a Northampton based team with proven race credentials having won both the 2015 and 2016 Fiesta Junior Championship and the UK Clio Cup Championship in 2016.

With determination and committment, and the benefit of extensive support provided by racing professionals, Callum's season concluded with 6 podium finishes; a race win from pole position leading ‘lights to flag’ at Anglesey; numerous fastest laps and a new 2016 lap record at Castle Combe .

Callum attends the Silverstone UTC (University Technical College) and is specialising in High Performance Engineering which provides him with fantastic opportunities to work with business partners that include Aston Martin and GT McLaren amongst others. His favourite tracks include Silverstone (which Callum considers to be his home track) and Snetterton and he is looking forward to the new experience of driving in the night races scheduled for the end of the 2017 Championship season.

In his spare time Callum 'relaxes' on his Playstation where, perhaps not surprisingly, he indulges in all games racing related. He also enjoys playing piano and guitar and, more recently, has set up his commercial modelling business platform designed to compliment his responsibilities as a brand ambassador.
